Self-initiated redesign of the logo for the

new state-of-the-art opera house in Wexford, Ireland.

With this logo, I wanted to reflect both the historical and artistic importance of opera with the progressive design of the building itself. The symbol can be read both as a flat rendering of a house with open door or as

a three dimensional representation of the actual opera house' distinctive angled fly-tower which now dominates the town skyline. The red section of the symbol also denotes a stage curtain in keeping with the buildings purpose.

The typeface is modern and stately alluding to the buildings cutting-edge architecture and cultural weight.
